Gods and their Creatures

  • Aeneas

A hero and demigod who fled the fallen Troy at divine command. He bears a sacred mission: to find a new homeland for his people, foretold by Hector’s prophecy as their destined home in Italy. He is a soldier swept along by fate and the will of the gods, guided by his mother, Venus, his most devoted guardian.
  • Amor

Son of Venus, god of love, and half-brother to Aeneas. He radiates sensuality and desire. His relationship with his mother is deeply unhealthy - he craves her attention, idolizing her to obsession. This grotesque devotion is reflected in his chamber, where every wall is adorned with images of Venus. Though he indulges in pleasure and lovers with hedonistic fervor, he loves only one truly: Psyche, his beloved “captive” in his palace.
  • Amor’s wing

The lustful god’s living, independent wing. When not serving Amor’s designs and desires, it follows its own impulses—reveling in freedom, mischief, and unrestrained passion.
  • Anchises

Father of Aeneas and lover of the goddess Venus, Anchises was the hero’s progenitor. Wise and steadfast, he acts always in his son’s best interest. Many of Aeneas’s noblest virtues are inherited from him, for he stands as the exemplar of traditional Roman values—devotion to family, duty, and loyalty.
  • Anna

Sister of Queen Dido of Carthage. Compassionate and devoted, she always puts her sister’s well-being first. Like Dido, she worships the goddess Juno with deep reverence. Denying herself worldly pleasures, she finds complete fulfillment in serving her sister.
  • Boagrius

A towering, fearsome barbarian whose greatest weapon is his brute strength and savagery. Though lacking cunning, he is unrelentingly violent and fearless. He obeys only Iarbas—and the gods.
  • Cassandra

Sister of Hector and the misunderstood prophetess of fallen Troy, Cassandra was cursed by Apollo—whose love she had rejected—to see the future with perfect clarity, yet never to be believed. Condemned to endless rejection, she bears the torment of foresight while powerless to prevent the loss of all she holds dear.
  • Creusa

Wife of Aeneas, who always places the safety of her loved ones before her own. Strong, steadfast, and selfless, her actions are above reproach. A delicate, ethereal beauty whose every gesture radiates refinement and tenderness.
  • Deiphobus

A valiant Trojan warrior, one of the first to fall during the city’s destruction. Even in death, his restless soul found no peace, forever haunting the ruins of lost Troy.
  • Dido

Founding queen of Carthage. A strong and independent woman whose heroic spirit is paired with a gentle, feminine grace. Her deeply compassionate heart has brought her much pain, yet she finds the courage to open it time and again. Her palace reflects her mourning and her past, yet also her connection to the divine and her most cherished relics.
  • Euryalus

A young Trojan warrior in his prime, one of the last survivors of the war’s devastation. Loyal companion to Aeneas, inseparable from Nisus, whom he reveres as mentor, model, and dearest friend.
  • Fama

A cunning and manipulative woman who always places herself above all others, constantly eavesdropping and gathering secrets. She draws knowledge from those around her, turning it to her own advantage. Though morally corrupt, she is strikingly beautiful—her allure serving as her most formidable weapon of deceit.
  • Geras / Narcissus

A dual-natured being among the barbarians, a fiery creature who fuels rebellion and unrest. Under Amor’s spell, his other side awakens—a self-absorbed vision, lost in the vision of his own beauty.
  • Hector

Troy’s greatest hero and the city’s staunchest defender, who gives his life for his homeland. The embodiment of perfect masculine virtue: a dutiful son, loyal husband, loving father, and steadfast friend. A man of keen intellect and fearsome martial skill, though he finds no joy in bloodshed. It is he who sets Aeneas upon his long journey.
  • Iarbas

The “uncrowned king” of Carthage, ruler of the local underworld and leader of the barbarians who obey his every command. He granted Dido and her people a small tract of land on which the fortress of Carthage was built. Like Aeneas, he is a demigod—his father none other than Jupiter himself. Knowing neither law nor honor, he does not shrink from violence to seize what he desires
  • Juno

Queen of heaven and the skies, mistress of celestial light and moonlight, wife of Jupiter. Jealous, vengeful, and unyielding, she is as capable of cunning intrigue as she is of fierce destruction. Her hatred of the Trojans knows no bounds, yet she guards Dido—and Carthage itself—with unwavering devotion.
  • Jupiter

The supreme god, lord of lightning and thunder, husband to Juno. Deceptive by nature, he is consumed by his pursuit of earthly pleasures, heedless of his wife’s constant vigilance. Often disguised - at times even as an animal - he seduces those he desires. A being of vast and incomprehensible power, he stands as the judge of gods and mortals alike.
  • Leda

A Trojan refugee who has lost everything. A woman of striking beauty, resourceful and cautious enough to survive against all odds. Aware of her charms, she will do almost anything to secure her own comfort. Though she appears delicate, she is in truth a wolf in sheep’s clothing.
  • Marsyas

A mythic creature—a satyr—among the barbarian ranks. A driving force in Iarbas’s schemes, he follows his master’s every command with unwavering loyalty. Playful and carefree, not a creature of deep thought, yet precise and unquestioning in every task he is given.
  • Mercury

Son of Jupiter and messenger of the gods, Mercury is also the patron of merchants, travelers, thieves, and tricksters. As the divine herald, he moves freely between worlds, guiding souls to the underworld. Mischievous and free-spirited, he lives by his own rules and often takes what he desires for sport. As Jupiter’s right hand, he carries out the supreme god’s will among mortals.
  • Minotaur

Born a monster, half man and half bull, he was confined within a labyrinth to protect others from his immense strength. Muscular and formidable, he was made cruel not by nature, but by loneliness, rejection, and fear. Not evil by birth, he was shaped into a beast by human scorn.
  • Nisus

A skilled and fiery Trojan fighter—young yet seasoned, strong, wise, and composed. He would sacrifice his life without hesitation for Troy, but even more so for Euryalus.
  • Psyche

The mortal beloved of Amor, whose beauty provoked the jealousy of Venus and won the heart of the god himself. She lives in seclusion within the palace Amor built for her, where he visits her each night. Her enduring love and devotion remain unbroken—even in the face of death itself.
  • Sinon

A hoarder and compulsive collector who cannot resist taking whatever he lays eyes on. He sells some treasures for a price, yet he keeps many purely for his own amusement and desire. Cunning and deceitful, he compensates for his lack of physical might with craftiness.
  • Venus

Mother of Aeneas and Amor, goddess of love, desire, beauty, and fertility. She is a radiant woman, her impulsive and sensitive nature lies at the heart of many of her conflicts. Through her divine essence she ceaselessly shapes the fates of mortals, striving endlessly to quiet the boundless longing that burns within her.
